Africa Independent Television (AIT) yesterday hosted President Goodluck Jonathan at a Grand House Reception in Abuja.
DAAR Communications Plc, the owners of AIT, was established by High
Chief Aleogho Dokpesi who holds a Doctorate Degree in Marine Transport
Engineering from the University of Gdansk, Sopot in Poland.
Recall that a few weeks before the presidential election, AIT aired a documentary, “The Real Buhari”,
which maligned the image of the president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari. The
documentary depicted the general’s past military regime as one that
became the first to sentence a woman to death by firing squad.
Subsequently, reports surfaced that security officials attached
to the president-elect had barred the AIT from covering Buhari’s
activities till further notice.
In response to the bar, Dokpesi said Buhari’s decision was an attempt by the former military head of state to bring back the era of Decree 4.
