Nigeria Pays The Least Wages Compared To Other OPEC Member (Check out the minimum wage of other countries)

In Nigeria, the minimum wage for an average worker is pegged at N18, 000. Among other OPEC countries, Nigeria reportedly pays its workers the least wages.
Areoye Oyebola, Chairman, Movement For Nigeria’s Total Transformation, MNTT in an opinion published by The News magazine stated that while Nigeria pays N18, 000 as minimum wage, other OPEC members pay their workers 4 to 12 times higher than the average wage.
Oyebola, a renowned author and publisher of 26 books stated that United Arab Emirates pays its worker, in Naira equivalent a sum of N 217,360 as Kuwait pays N161,461.
Other members of the international oil body like Saudi Arabia gives averagely N99, 327 to workers; Venezuela, N95, 839 and Iran N86, 585 ‘’The figures are quite revealing and disheartening when compared to other OPEC countries’’ he exclaimed.
This analysis, according to him explains why more than 100 million Nigerians live in destitution.
Oyebola appealed to the incoming president, Muhammadu Buhari to put an end to the development.
