Contrary  to previous reports, it has been obtained that President Muhammadu Buhari does not plan to remove oil subsidy.

Earlier today news broke that Buhari had in mind to scrap the policy, based on the recommendations of Joda’s transition committee. The idea was to remove oil subsidies to fund education in Nigeria.
A correspondent of Sahara Reporters spoke with Adesina, asking him to comment on the issues, Adesina answered the correspondents as follows:“Those reports have not come out of the president’s office, so I cannot confirm them.”
However, the information has been circulating for a while in the local media that PMB plans to remove the fuel subsidy.
It was reported that the Committee urged President Buhari to develop a “detailed and coordinated” strategy to remove subsidy.
As for the possible changes in the sector, Buhari’s administration was also said to be working on unbundling the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation to make it more efficient in the production and delivery of petroleum products.
