APC Has Nothing To Do With Saraki’s Wife’s Trial – Oyegun Indicts PDP

The national chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), John Odigie-Oyegun has reacted to news making rounds that the party is behind the arrest of the Senate President’s wife, Toyin Saraki.
In a chat going on with journalist at his office in Abuja, the APC chairman indicted the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), though the Kwara state chapter of the PDP had sent a release that they don’t have anything to do with the arrest.
Oyegun said: “This could have been triggered by the opposition party and PDP asked to be nudged to deny they made the allegations, we are totally innocent.”
The chairman further explained that the APC is a party that is totally different from the PDP, who is known for interfering in the affairs of the EFCC.
We are not like PDP, we don’t interfere in EFCC affairs, the EFCC is doing what they think they have to do the party will not interfere,” he said.
About a week ago, Mrs. Saraki had been summoned by the EFCC for questioning, over alleged fraud to the tune of N2billion perpetrated when her husband was the governor of Kwara state. Reacting to the EFCC’s invitation, Toyin Saraki, said she will honour the invitation.
Yesterday, she was said to have arrived at the premises of the anti-corruption agency about two hours late for her appointment, with an unruly crowd, comprising of politicians and supporters.
