PMB, Osinbanjo Meet With Top Chevron Officals (PHOTOS)

President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbanjo today, had a meeting with senior officials of International oil company, Chevron.
The delegation was led by the company’s President for Africa and Latin America, Mr. Ali Moshiri to the Aso presidential villa, Abuja.
While speaking to the Chevron team, Buhari assured them that his administration will implement far-reaching reforms to boost accountability and transparency in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
According to National Helm, he also declared that his administration was ready to effectively address the myriad of challenges bedeviling the sector.
Buhari said: “We understand the situation in the industry and we will do our best to address the challenges affecting exploration, production and distribution of oil products in the country.’’ 
He praised the President Umar Yar’Adua Amnesty Programme aimed at to reduce violence in the Niger Delta region, while promising that his government will improve on the good aspects of the programme.
He also revealed that his government  will implement other measures to enhance security in the regionand attract more investments into the  Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
Moshiri had urged Buhari to restore the confidence of international investors in the industry. He told the president that improved security in the Niger Delta will witness increased investment in the industry.
According to him, Chevron was keen to support Nigeria’s gas sector and bring more electricity to Nigerian consumers.

Two weeks back, Buhari inaugurated the National Economic Council which is to be chaired by vice president, Osinbanjo with the responsibility of guarding the president on his economic policies.
