Amaechi Is Not Operating Foreign Banks Accounts - APC

All Progressives Congress has dismissed as false stories flying on the internet linking the immediate past governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi with some foreign banks accounts.
Reacting to the report, the state’s chairman of the party, Davies Ikanya said Amaechi perceived political opponents were behind the lies, saying that their intention was to rubbish the former governor before President Muhammadu Buhari, Vanguard reports.
Ikanya, who made this remark through his spokesman, Chuwemeka Eze also accused some members of his party members of working with opponents to destroy the image of the former governor.
He said: “These stories flooding the Internet and Social Media about former Governor Amaechi are mere fabrications intended to ridicule him and poison the mind of President Muhammadu Buhari, who is expected to make Amaechi a key member of his cabinet. For the avoidance of doubt, Amaechi has no account with a Bank in Minnesota, USA, as alleged by these devious rumour mongers.”
Ikanya described as untrue report that CNN’s Christiane Amanpour accused Amaechi of corruption, as being claimed by his detractors saying “ Besides, at no time did Amaechi write to Bancorp or any bank in Switzerland, stating that he deposited any funds in error.”
He stated further that report is being authored by evil-minded persons desperate to pull down Amaechi, noting that they are bound to fail.
The party expressed regrets that some saboteurs within the party have made themselves available for use in tarnishing Amaechi’s hard-earned reputation just because of pecuniary benefits.
We wish to warn these saboteurs to stop playing Judas or be prepared to face the consequences with their new-found master,” he added.
In a related development, Governor Wike has said that he will not be bordered if President Buhari appoints Amaechi as a minister but his immediate concern is to recover all the funds allegedly looted by the former governor.
