The Chelsea player John Obi Mikel is set to be given his marching orders, according to a report on Daily Mail.
It was gathered that Mikel may likely end his nine-year love affair with the club as Chelsea are set to sell him before the current summer transfer window shuts.
Turkish giants Besiktas are interested in the 28-year-old midfielder who was recently dropped from the Super Eagles Squad to face Tanzania in next month AFCON 2017 qualifier.
Mikel has seen his playing time drastically reduced since the arrival of Nemanja Matic from Benifica as the former Lyn Oslo player featured only 18 times in the Premier League for the Blues last season and is yet to play a single minute of the current campaign.
Despite having completed 91% of his passes in his 18 appearances last season, Mikel only won 16 out of 47 attempted tackles and averaged just two defensive actions per game for the Blues.
The 28-year-old has been at Chelsea since 2006 and made over 200 Premier League appearances for the four-time champions.
Reports had earlier surfaced that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho noted on the Club’s pre-season trip, that duo of John Obi Mikel and John Terry are now the only players who bridge the gap between his trophy-laden first and second spells as Chelsea manager and acknowledges that having a serial winner like Mikel around the group can only be beneficial.
But the 28-year-old time at Chelsea seems to be up following new reports of a move away from Stamford Bridge
Meanwhile, John Shittu, the agent of Mikel has rejected claims by Eagles handler, Sunday Oliseh that the midfielder snubbed him.
