A delegation of the Senate on Wednesday visited Maiduguri, capital of Borno State and Misau in Bauchi State to commiserate with the Governor, Kashim Shettima, over the death of his Deputy, Zannah Umar Mustapha and the people of Misau Emirate who on Monday lost their Emir, Alh. Muhammad Manga III.
The five-man delegation led by Senator Danjuma Goje included Senators Kabiru Gaya, Hamma Misau, Bukar Abba Ibrahim and Bashir Marafa.
Goje while delivering the condolence message on behalf of the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki and the Senate in Maiduguri and Misau Emirate respectively, lamented the sudden departure of both the Deputy Governor and the Emir.
He described Mustapha as a humble and hardworking gentleman who served the people of Borno and the entire North-East Zone creditably.
He also stated that the late Emir of Misau lived a good life having worked tirelessly for the progress and development of the Misau Emirate in particular and Bauchi State in general.
While wishing the deceased special places among the righteous ones in Aljannah Fidaus, Goje prayed Almighty Allah to grant the families of the deceased, Governors and people of Borno and Bauchi States the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has been warned to be weary of mass defection of politicians from opposition parties to the ruling All Progressives Congress.
