Commissioner Of Police Tasks Security Agencies In Ogun

The Ogun state commissioner of police, Abdulmajid Ali has assured Nigerian army and other security agencies of sustainable collaboration in fighting crimes in the state.
Ali has sought supports from other security agencies in the state towards adequate protection of lives and property.
The Police boss stated this on Tuesday, August 25, while on separate courtesy visit to commander 35 artilerry brigade, Nigerian army, Alamala, Abeokuta, Brig.General MS Danwalis and the commander, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Ogun state ,Mr Balla Fagge in their respective offices.

In a statement today from the command, which was signed by the state police public relations officer, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, the CP arrived Alamala’s office around 1:00pm and got to the NDLEA office at their Ibara GRA headquarters at about 3:00pm.
He appreciated the commander and his officers for their supports towards tackling crimes and criminalities in the state. He assured the Nigerian army officers of sustainable collaboration between the two agencies and other security agencies in Ogun state,” the statement read in part.

Responding, Danwalis commended Ali for his sterling leadership qualities and operational styles in the state.
Danwalis applauded the police commissioner for his fight against cultism, kidnappers and land grabbers in ogun state, as he reinstated that all hands will be on deck to support the police in combating crime in the State.
At the NDLEA office, Ali assured Fagge and his men of police support in fighting crime and his commitment towards kicking against drug abuse and misuse.
He also promised to always have joint operations with the NDLEA to conduct raids of black spots where drugs and Indian hemp are being sold and abused.
The NDLEA boss appreciated the police boss for his hand of friendship and commitment to sanitize the systems within the gateway state.
He promised to work in consonance with the operational strategies of the commissioner of police.

Meanwhile, in his quest to ensure that the state becomes a crime free state, the commissioner has charged all the 20 local government chairmen in the state to support them in combating the crimes in all nooks and crannies of the state.
The Police boss advised them to complement the efforts of the state government and the police command and other security agencies in fighting crimes and other social vices in their respective local government areas.
Ali maintained that the command has been proactive to many security challenges in the state, promising to continuing to tackle such in the state.
This was disclosed at the police headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta at a maiden security meeting between the police boss and the 20 transition chairmen in the state.

The meeting, which was at the instance of the commissioner, was centered on vital security issues in the state, which includes; ritual killings, kidnapping, land speculation, cultism, police fight against land grabbers, cultists, use of unregistered vehicles or motorcycles and other crimes.
I want to assure you all of adequate security of lives and property and full support from all officers and men of the command.
“Let me also encourage you to be fully on ground and be more involved in community policing as the command is ready to be referring some community-based conflicts to you when it arises in parts of the state,” Ali hinted.

In his response, the transition chairman of Ijebu North local government, Hon. Mojeed Ekelojumati, expressed appreciation to the police boss for his thoughtfulness and proactiveness for the first-of-its-kind security meeting with the chairmen, which will go a long way in promoting effective policing and peaceful co-existence of the people of the state.
All other transition chairmen who spoke and reacted to some issues raised at the meeting, applauded Ali and the entire officers and men in the command for the new policing styles and smooth operations in Ogun state.
The 20 transition chairmen, however assured the command of their full supports in all ramifications to the new community policing method of the command.
