Crisis In The PDP Now Worrisome -Senator Emmanuel Paulker

The Senator representing Bayelsa central senatorial district in the national assembly, Emmanuel Paulker, has lamented the exodus of notable members of the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress  in Bayelsa state.
According to The Sun, Paulker was speaking at a thanksgiving reception to mark his victory at the poll where he described the crisis in the PDP as worrisome, recalling that a similar incident at the centre cost the party the Presidency.
He pledged his loyalty to the PDP, hinting that he was working with the leadership of the party to bring the defectors back to the fold.
“As a politician, definitely, l am not comfortable, especially as regards the caliber of people that left my party, the PDP. I am not comfortable. When you are bitten by a snake, you will jump when you see a lizard cross your path.
“I am saying this because of my knowledge of what happened to us at the centre, which began with the exit of the five governors and it took quite some time to put ourselves together. Before we got ourselves together, election was around the corner and you all know what happened. It is history now,” he said.
Paulker, who is being pressured in some quarters to contest the PDP governorship primaries also declared that he has no disagreement with Governor Henry Seriake Dickson.
He, however, reassured his loyalists that he was still consulting on his governorship ambition and would soon make his decision known to the public.
Urging his supporters not to worry over his ambition, Paulker said he has the right to pursue his political aspirations  as a citizen of Nigeria and member of the party.
Chief Olisa Metuh, the national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, recently acknowledged that being in opposition is not easy, explaining that some long-serving members stopped showing commitment to party affairs the very week it lost the 2015 presidential election.
