End Boko Harm In 3 Month – PMB To Service Chiefs

President Muhammadu Buhari on August 13 has decorated new services chiefs and given them ultimatum on the Boko Haram insurgency.
Nigerian leader charged the service chiefs to map out strategies to defeat Boko Haram in three months’ time.
Those sworn-in were – Major-Gen. Abayomi Gabriel Olonishakin (Chief of Defence Staff), Major-Gen. T.Y. Buratai (Chief of Army Staff), Rear Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (Chief of Naval Staff) and Air Vice Marshal Sadique Abubakar (Chief of Air Staff).
Shortly after the decoration, Buhari ordered them to return to work and make Nigerians proud.
Buhari said: “Rightly the armed forces have been in the vanguard of the fight against terrorism. While commending the efforts of the armed forces so far, you need to brace up and continue to team up with other stakeholders to come up with a well coordinated joint efforts which will bring a desired end to this insurgency within three months.
“In the course of carrying out this assignment you must be accountable for all men and equipment placed under your command. Your troops welfare must be uppermost in your mind, take care of them and make available what is due to them.
“Concerted efforts should also be made to ensure judicious use of resources that are available to you in the search for solution to these challenges.
“On our own part we shall be ready to give you the needed resources to achieve this feat. You will recall I have been to several countries with the sole aim of canvassing for global support to eliminate terrorism from Nigeria.”
Buhari was joined by his vice Yemi Osinbajo and the army officers’ wives to decorate them with their new ranks.
President Buhari has appointed new service chiefs ans national security advicer on July 13.
The confirmation of their appointments by the Senate comes on August 4.
