A 26-year old woman has reportedly died after she accidentally fell into a well at Ijede area of Lagos.
The unidentified woman was said to have drowned on Thursday, July 30, PM News reports.
According to Rasak Fadipe, the director, Lagos state fire service, she was dead already by the time she was brought out of the well.
“A lady of about 26 years old accidentally fell and got trapped inside a well of about 120 feet deep,” he said.
Her body was recovered by the firemen in Ikorodu fire station.
Fadipe called on the government to properly monitor wells in the state and ensure that they were covered.
In recent time, there have been cases of people drowning in different parts of the country. Some weeks back, 3 corpses of boys within the ages of 10 and 13, surfaced in a stationery pond in Ungogo local government area of Kano state.
