How APC Plans To Celebrate Its 2nd Anniversary

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has disclosed plans for the celebration of its second anniversary.
The APC which was formed from a coalition of the All Nigeria People’s Party, Action Congress of Nigeria, a section of the All Progressives Grand Alliance and the Congress for Progressive Change clocked two years ago on July 31, 2015.
Speaking with journalists, the chairman of the anniversary committee and national organizing secretary of the party, Senator Osita Izunaso said that the party plans to mark its anniversary at the end of this month, Vanguard reports.
According to him, the party had every reason to celebrate its existence as a political party following its remarkable achievements in the last two years, most especially its success at the 2015 general elections.
The APC has 22 governors, controls the two chambers of the National Assembly and one of its greatest achievements was producing the President of the country within two years of establishing the party.
It’s already two years by the 31st of July this year, the APC was registered by INEC July 31st 2013, last year when we wanted to celebrate our one year anniversary, we got tied up with preparations towards registration of our membership, towards conducting congresses for our members across the federation, national convention as well as the party primaries for the 2015 general elections which we won by the grace of God,” he said.
He listed some of the events lined up for the event to include, series of lectures by the former Nigeria’s permanent representatives to the United Nations, professor Ibrahim Gambari and getting world class resource persons to speak on the role of a political party on emerging government and to as well talk about the party’s change mantra.
Izunaso explained that they will also be holding talks on their change agenda and what to do to effect the change.
We have secured the date and the guest speakers are fine tuning ahead of it. We also want to use the avenue for internal soul search to let ourselves know that the task ahead is more than the one behind,” the APC scribe added.
On July 31, at an event organized in Abuja to mark the APC’s two-year anniversary, the national chairman of the party, John Odigie-Oyegun had stressed the importance for all the party members to work hard to fulfill the APC visions and dreams, while also calling on them to be guided by the examples of the APC founding fathers.
APC was registered as a political party by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on July 31, 2013 and by June 13, the party elected its substantive national leadership.
