Man Lands In Court For Beating Pregnant Woman

A man identified as Ortega Kinga was on Wednesday, August 12, brought before a Zuba Upper Area Court, Abuja, by the police for allegedly beating a pregnant woman with an iron rod.
According to Nigerian Tribune, Kinga is being arraigned on a two-count charge of assault and causing hurt, which he has denied.
Malam Aminu Sa’ad, the judge ordered that the accused be remanded in prison.
Arziki Kaura, the prosecutor, told the court that on Saturday, August 8, Loveth Nwaneri of Dutse Baupma-Abuja reported the matter at the Dutse Alhaji police station, which is also the same day the accused allegedly assaulted her.
He said Kinga used an iron rod to hit Loveth on the head, left side of her stomach and her legs, causing her injuries.
The accused assaulted the plaintiff because of a misunderstanding between them and not minding that she is heavily pregnant.
Kaura said that the offences contravened the provisions of the Penal Code law.
The case was adjourned till September 9 for hearing.
Just recently, a 34-year-old pregnant woman, has reportedly beaten unconscious  by another pregnant woman, over a disagreement.
