Following cries of marginalization of the Igbos, Pan Igbo socio cultural organization, Igbo Renaissance Movement has urged its leaders to approach President Muhammadu Buhari with humility.
In a statement jointly signed by the national coordinator of the group, Chief Chris Chukwubuzor Azuka and Deacon Kingsley Godwin, the group said: “this is the time to approach President Buhari with humility to rebuild trust, friendship and to pledge our loyalty to his government.”
According to Vanguard report, the group described the continuous attack on President Buhari over alleged marginalization as a ‘misplaced aggression’.
Chief Azuka said it was time for the Igbos to honestly examine themselves and engage in soul searching, noting that they have been hunted by “blind politics of hate, bitterness, isolation, greed over this years.”
He called on his kinsmen to stop building tower of isolation and being antagonistic towards others, saying it would do them no good.
The Igbo movement declared their support for President Buhari’s war on corrupt leaders, irrespective of who they are and where they come from.
The statement read: “They have stolen for themselves and their families alone and none stole on behalf of their tribe.
“We urge the President to continue with his efforts to recover from corrupt criminals what they have stolen from the public vault, and whoever have stolen should surrender themselves to the law.”
The statement declared that one of the major challenges facing Igbo’s nation at the moment is dart of leadership and therefore called on its stakeholders to put its house in order for common good.
Some people of Igbo origin have been accusing Presdent Buhari marginalising them, stressing that he did not like them.
About the three weeks ago, the Pan-Igbo cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo said Buhari’s actions and utterance shows he (Buhari) doesn’t like the Igbo.
