The report, however, did not indicate the exact location where the incident occurred, but occurrences like these are common in Nigeria where some communities have lost confidence in the ability of the police to apprehend and prosecute criminal elements in the country. This has made them resort to jungle justice.
A similar case of jungle justice played out in Lagos on Tuesday, August 19,  when an alleged thief who was caught attempting to steal a brain box from a car. He was  reportedly set ablaze by an angry mob.
Nigerians hearts were broken on October 5, 2012 when four students of University of Port Harcourt were gruesomely murdered by mob for allegedly being robbers.
It was reported that a whole community came to witness the incident. The students were Ugonna, Tekana, lloyd and Chiadika.  They were beaten by Aluu community on the allegation of phones and laptops theft and set ablaze by the mob.
