'Okada' Riders Abandon Road To Avoid Bribing Police

Residents of Onala area in Ekiti state have again started groaning under the yoke of the men of Oke-Ila police division.
The policemen are now in the habit of exhorting motorcyclists and motorists plying the new road in the area. Commercial motorcyclists now avoid the area like plague.
Motorcyclists, popularly known as Okada riders in Nigeria
Residents of the area said they now find it difficult to enjoy the new road as they no longer get ‘Okada’ readily.
The residents wondered why policemen who are supposed to be on patrol to protect the people and their property should be engaging in shameless extortion.
They said it was unfortunate that the police which recently earned the respect of Nigerians  suddenly descend to the pit of corruption.
