Ronaldo Fuels MLS Move Rumours With Business Activities

Real Madrid attacker, Cristiano Ronaldo has fuelled speculation that a rumoured future move to the MLS could come sooner than expected.
According to the New York Post, Ronaldo paid as much as $18.5m for a 2,509 sq ft loft in Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue, the 57th tallest skyscraper in Manhattan and one described lovingly on Trump.com as “still one of the most distinctive buildings in the world.”
The apartment is owned by US presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Trump.com adds: “The residential condominiums comprise floors 30 through 68 and are considered one of the world’s elite luxury residences, catering to public figures, athletes, celebrities and other affluent sophisticates.”
It has however been speculated that the apartment bought by Ronaldo is just a show of his wealth and also a residence he can use whenever he is on vacation in America.
Ronaldo is reportedly the richest footballer in the world, worth about €210m, or $235m.
It has also been speculated by Sports Illustrated that the Portugese winger might move to Los Angeles when his deal with the 2014 Champions League winners expire in 2018. New York and Miami  are said to his front runners for the 30 year old’s signature but Kansas City has been ruled out.
Donald Trump and Italian real-estate mogul Alessandro Proto, were said to interested in buying Colombian club, Atletico Nacional for $100m earlier this month, but the deal fell through.
Trump said in a statement: “National wants $150m to sell the club. For us, the proposal is unacceptable. Maybe they think we’re stupid. We had offered $100m and that it was an important offer. We are not willing to offer more.”
Meanwhile, Ronaldo has been nominated alongside Barcelona attacking duo, Lionel Messi and Luiz Suárez for the 2014/2015 European footballer of the year by The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) for their efforts during the past season.
