The Senate leadership has concluded plans to suspend the two senators sworn in as senator representing Niger South Senatorial District.

According to Daily Trust newspaper, the duo who claimed to have won election under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) were sworn in by the senate president, Bukola Saraki at different times.
While General Mohammed A. Garba was sworn on June 9, 2015, Malam Mustapha Sani Mohammed was sworn in last week.
“Already they have been stopped from coming to the National Assembly,” a source told the newspaper.
Earlier, the senate president’s special adviser on legal and constitutional matters, Barrister Ibrahim Tukur El-Sudi had said the confusion was caused by a lack of information from the judiciary.
Meanwhile, the senate has said it does not have time to consider the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) stressing that the bill is not a priority of the current administration.
