Bayero University Gets New Vice Chancellor

A professor of mathematics at the Bayero University in Kano state, Muhammad Yahuza Bello, has emerged the new vice chancellor of the school .

Bello who happens to be the 10th to climb the seat succeeds the out-going Professor Adamu Rasheed, who served in the capacity of the VC for five years starting from 2010.
Handing-over the affairs of the university to his successor, the professor of English attributed the relative success recorded in the last five years to the support and encouragement from the governing council of the university and the management staff.
During the event, Rasheed reviewed his stewardship and said that the BUK has unique record of being the only university where the selection of VC is done openly and transparently explaining that the new VC emerged through a long process, including securing the highest university community endorsement.
Describing the new BUK head as pillar of the entire transformation process that took place during his tenure, Rasheed commended his pedigree to duty, workaholic, focused and result oriented personality. He appealed to the university community who supported and contributed to the success of his tenure to extend same treatment and rally round him to succeed.
The new VC accepted the handover and thanked the governing council of the university for reposing the huge confidence in him saying that following the footsteps of legends like Professors Rasheed, Late Musa Abdullahi and Attahiru Jega, is by no means a herculean task.
The new vice chancellor then solicited the support of all in the task ahead promising to build and consolidate the rare accomplishments embarked upon by his predecessor.
Meanwhile, Benki Womboh, a 67-year-old university professor has dumped his wife after 46 years of marriage.
