Popular Nigerian gospel artist, Sammie Okposo who recently celebrated his fifth year wedding anniversary has opened up on how he almost became a frustrated accountant.

In a recent interview, the veteran gospel artist speaks on how he disobeyed his father in order to achieve his own dream.
Sammie disclosed that “My father wanted me to become an accountant but at the end of my 200 level in the university I knew I was going to become a frustrated accountant, so I walked to him one day and say daddy I want to become an artist”.
In order to achieve his dreams, Sammie left home and decided to stay with his Uncle who lives in Ajegunle where his journey into stardom started.
He said “you never contest with my father for whatever he has chosen for you to become, but I took a drastic step because the passion I have for music is greater than the fear of being disowned by my own father”.
Sammie added that before the death of his father, he told him he was proud of him even though he disobeyed him.
However, Sammie also disclosed that the best award he has ever won was the blessings from his father before he died.
