Group Insist Buhari Has Kept His London Promises

The United Kingdom body, the Buhari-Osinbajo Diaspora Organisation Think Tank Group (BTTG), has said that Muhammadu Buhari has fulfilled the promises he made at London’s Chatham House
as the All Progressives Congress candidate.
According to Daily Trust, the group made it known through the statement, which contains the reminder that Buhari clearly stated his position towards the first 100 days in office explaining he would not focus on this specific term.
The BTTG praised Buhari over the exposure of many corruption cases, better account for the government earnings, stoppage of pilgrimage sponsorship, improving power supply, among others. Apart from having kept these promises, President Buhari ensured increase in the national reserve, started restoring Nigeria’s image across the world and ordered the clean-up of Ogoni land.
It should be recalled that the issue of the first 100 days in office has been widely discussed in the recent period, as Buhari marked this period at the position of the president.
The controversy is associated with his promises allegedly made for the first 100-day term. While Nigerians referred to the documented speeches with pledges, the presidency insisted it had never provided any specifics regarding the first three months of ruling.
One of the public speeches during which Buhari addressed the “100 days” matter was delivered on February 26 in London.
“Just to go first to the ‘first 100 days’, some of it is fraudulent and I don’t want to participate in any fraud in any form. Nigerians know that we are in trouble as a people and as a country. When we get there we will quickly get correct intelligence of what is on the ground and inform Nigerians and just in line with what I have just read, we will make sure that misappropriation and misapplication of public resources will not be allowed. You would be surprised by how much savings we will realize. That saving will be ploughed back into development and this is what I can promise. But I would remove that ‘100 days’.”
