Despite news of his mum’s death, Super Eagles captain Vincent Enyeama may still be given his marching orders following his late withdrawal from tomorrow clash against Tanzania.
A report from The Sun newspapers stated that officials of the Nigeria Football Federation have started making moves to oust Enyeama out of the team.
According to the report, Amaju Pinnick, president of the NFF and other top officials of the federation held a meeting which went into the late hours of the night on arrival in Dar es Salaam, to decide Enyeama’s fate.
Despite losing his mum, many top officials still considered his action as an act of sabotage.
“We have discussed Vincent, but we have not taken a decision yet. We will do that after the Tanzania game,” a board member said.
Coach Oliseh had yesterday criticized Enyeama over his late withdrawal. Oliseh is now left with the trio of Wolverhampton’s Carl Ikeme, Sunshine Stars’ Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Enyimbas’ Femi Thomas who was handed a last minute call up following the withdrawal of Enyeama.
The Taifa stars of Tanzania will entertain the Super Eagles of Nigeria tomorrow in an AFCON 2017 qualifiers.
