Nigeria’s U-23 side at the ongoing All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville, have recorded a 2-0 win over the Black Meteors of Ghana in the football event of the quadrennial championship.
After a goalless first half, Samson Siasia’s boys, popularly called Dream Team VI, came back smoking in the second half with two well-taken goals by Junior Ajayi of Shooting Stars FC and Enyimba FC of Aba’s Kingsley Sokari.
This victory is coming less than 24 hours after Sunday Oliseh’s Super Eagles defeated Niger by the same scoreline in an international friendly match played at the Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium in Port Harcourt.
Nigeria is presently on two bronze medals at the ongoing games and will hope to keep their hopes alive for a medal in the football event alive as the tournament progresses.
Meanwhile, some Nigerians have expressed their delight with the recent success of the Siasia-led team at the AAG.
