Reports say about 400 soldiers who were recently recalled to military service after being initially sacked for allegedly refusing to fight Boko Haram, have returned to their military base in Maiduguri, Borno state.
According to Sahara Reporters, a military source informed that the soldiers were sighted today in seven luxury Nigeria Army buses along Sir Kashim Ibrahim Road in Maiduguri.
Speaking on the arrival of the soldiers, a military source, who spoke anonymously, stated that pending the post back to their respective units, the soldiers have been in camps at Maimalari Cantonment at the Headquarters of 7 Army Division.
He said: ”As of this evening hundreds of soldiers who were earlier dismissed some months ago, and who were recently recalled back to military, have arrived in Maiduguri today. They are being posted to the 7th Division until the time they will be posted back their various units.”
The recalled soldiers, who were very happy about their reinstatement, were reported to have waved to civilian onlookers as they moved in.
