Jigawa state Governor, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has approved the award of N100 million contract for the renovation of the presidential lodge in the state to keep it to standard.
Speaking shortly after the 4th executive council meeting held at government house, Dutse, the commissioner for information, Bala Ibrahim Mamser said that the council in session approved the contract having realized that the presidential wing of the lodge needs renovation as it is no longer habitable for guests.
Mamser also said that the government has equally approved the revocation of four road contracts awarded by the immediate past administration of Governor Sule Lamido.
He explained that the roads included Kila-Tsangarwa-Wurno-Rambazau-Maruta, Gagarawa-Bosuwa, Tasheguwa-Guri and Gwaram Basirka respectively. Mamser said that the state government was not happy with the performance of the contractors to whom the contracts were earlier awarded and as such, will look into the possibility of re-awarding the contracts to other firms.
