I Coughed Out N1.3million for My Wife's Release - Super Eagles Midfielder Reveals

Super Eagles Midfielder, Fegor Ogude
Super Eagles Midfielder who won 2013 Africa Cup of Nations has revealed how he was left all alone after his wife was kidnapped as he ran around for her release.

A forgotten Super Eagles midfielder, Fegor Ogude has confirmed that he paid the sum of 1.3million naira to get his wife (Memunat) released by her abductors.
Ogude's wife was kidnapped on January 4 in her family house in Warri, Delta State and was kept in the abductors den for six days before her release on Sunday night.
Although family sources revealed that Ogude's wife was initially released without any payment, however, the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winning player has disclosed that he paid N1.3m to the abductors.
"Well, I paid nothing much for her release. I paid N1.3m though they demanded N30m," Ogude said, confirming that she was released on Sunday night.
Ogude further told thecable.com:
"Yes, she is alright but I have to ensure that she is. I have taken her to the hospital for proper medical tests and checkup because the kind of ordeal she must have gone through in the hands of the armed men is nothing to be taken for granted. I have to be sure that she is very okay.

"She was taken to a very bad place, a swampy forest, a dirty place to be kept for almost a week. Imagine what she must have faced during the number of days she was kept there. But I am thanking God that I got her back alive. It is her life that's the most important thing to me."

"You know that a lot of people will go there and won't come back alive, so I am happy that she is alright and alive."
