Nigeria Would be Worse Had Jonathan Remained in Power - Yakubu Dogara

According to Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Yakubu Dogara, Nigeria would've been worse had ex President Goodluck Jonathan remained in power.

According to him, millions of Nigerians would have ended up in camps as Internally displaced persons (IDPs), if not for the change of the Goodluck Jonathan government.

Speaking at the IDPs camp at Uhogua in Ovia North East local government area of Edo State, Dogara said the people should “thank God for his intervention in our affairs, that he brought about change in government; if we had continue like before, probably the Boko Haram fighters would reach places like Jos and then we would have thousands and millions of IDPs, so we thank God for answering our prayers for bringing change.”

He assured that the House of Representatives are doing every possible to ensure the quick passage of a law that will establish the North East Development Commission (NEDC). He also called on the federal government to immediately convene an international donor conference aimed at raising funds for IDPs across the country.
