Kolo Toure Wants To Remain In Liverpool

Liverpool defender Kolo Toure has stated his desire to remain with the club, but will respect whatever decision manager Jurgen Klopp takes regarding his future.

The veteran centre-back played 83 minutes of the Reds’ 3-1 loss to Sevilla in the Europa League final last night, before being sacrificed for striker Christian Benteke as Klopp’s side sought a way back into the game.

Toure put in a solid display at the back and was not at fault in any of the goals the Spanish side scored. However it may well have been his last game in a Liverpool shirt, with his contract at the club set to expire next month.

Yet the 35-year-old Ivorian is hopeful that he continue to be able to call himself a Liverpool player.

“I am just enjoying my time in this club – fantastic club and fantastic supporters. We will see what will happen and you will have to ask the manager,” Toure said after the match, as quoted by Sky Sports.

“I want to stay. It’s a great club to play in, but the manager has his plan and any decision I will respect. He is a top manager and he knows what he is doing.
