Brazilian fullback Dani Alves has urged compatriot Philippe Coutinho to quit Liverpool in favour of a "top Champions League side" and like Barcelona.
Coutinho enjoyed another stellar season at Anfield, sweeping the board at the end-of-season awards for the second consecutive season, but will be without European football once again.
Alves respects Liverpool's history but recognises that Coutinho should be able to play at the top of the game on a regular basis amid links with Paris Saint-Germain.
"Football is about living the moment," Alves told journalists.
"Liverpool have history but you should consider playing for top Champions League sides. He has the quality to play for Barcelona."
Alves is set to leave Barcelona after eight years at Camp Nou, with a move to Juventus set to be completed early this week.
