Pep Guardiola is hoping to manage Thiago Alcantara at a third club, according to reports in Spain.
The 25-year-old made his debut at Barcelona under Guardiola and followed him to Germany in 2013 as the manager’s first signing at Bayern Munich – and now Guardiola wants Alcantara at Manchester City.
According to El Confidencial, Guardiola is in advanced talks with his former club over a deal to again unite with Alcantara.
The pair share the same agent, Pep’s brother Pere, while the midfielder is said to see the manager as a father figure.
City have already bought another midfielder, Ilkay Gundogan from Borussia Dortmund, but Guardiola wants to revolutionise the playing style at the Etihad.
