News Alert: FG Paid Ransom to get 21 Chibok Girls

Errors of details have begin to mar the Federal Government's feat of the initial recovery of 21 Chibok girls out of the 218 held in Boko Haram custody since infamous abduction 2 years ago.

Initial media reports circulated by controversial online news platform, Sahara Reporters revealed the girls gained their freedom in a swap deal during which the government released 4 dreaded Boko Haram members to the sect at a meeting point in Borno, north-eastern part of Nigeria.

In the same vein, fresh details by the U.S-based media outfit has also revealed there was no swap deal but a'handsome ransom' exchanged hands between the government and Boko Haram negotiators according to an unnamed Nigerian government source.

Another conflicting details is that only one of the 21 Chibok girl is pregnant as against 18 which was earlier reported by the news platform.

The negotiation of the Chibok girls was carried by the Department of State Security (DSS) and it lasted more than six months. 21 Chibok girls released by Boko Haram are now receiving medical treatment at a medical facility of the DSS near the airport in Abuja.

The names of the girls are set to be released to affirm the viral report of national and international interest.
