Players Can Bring Their Wives & Girlfriends for World Cup - Coach Gernot Rohr

Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr, has said that he allow his players welcome their wives and girlfriends to visit them in camp
on some designated days during the World Cup in Russia.
Speaking while answering a question by a correspondent, Rohr said, “after every game, players will be given a day when they can welcome their families, wives and girlfriends to camp, relax with them and socialise.
“It will help the players psychologically and keep them focused for the task at hand,” Rohr defended.
He said the decision to commence camping in Abuja was to allow players come home and see their families and loved ones. “It will be good for the players to meet with their families after a long European season,” he said.
The team manager said it won’t be peculiar to Nigeria as other great teams do likewise. Rohr said whatever would be required to see the players do well at the tournament would be adopted in order to achieve results.
NFF President, Amaju Pinnick was in agreement with the coach on this when he said,“Rohr has the final say on this matter. I know other teams do it also but the buck rests on the coach’s table and what he says is final.”
Pinnick said the World Cup project was challenging but the football house was out to ensure all human errors that could hamper the team’s progress at the tournament were eliminated. “We are putting everything right – allowances, bonuses, backroom staff, et al. We want to make it and nothing would stop us.”
