Following directive from Nigeria’s new Chief of Army Staff Major-General Tukur Buratai on the need to be more proactive in the fight against terrorism, the Nigerian army has embarked on a new move.
According to Leadership, the Nigerian army has revealed that more roads are being cleared for the use of the troops fighting the terrorists in the Northeast.
It was gathered that road linking Biu–Sabon Gari-Damboa in Borno state is now cleared of insurgents for public usage.
The public have been encouraged to use the road as adequate security measures have been put in place for their safety.

In a statement issued yesterday, July 22, 2015, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, the acting director Army Public Relations, disclosed that similar efforts are on for the clearance and reopening of other roads in Borno and Yobe states.
According to him, crushing the terrorists is one of the reasons why President Muhammadu Buhari was on an official visit to the United States for four days.
This development comes hours after Boko Haram showed its audacity by attacking the village of Major General T.Y. Buratai.
