Bomb Scare Stalls Operations In Jos South

Another attempt to attack Jos area (Jos South LGA), Plateau state, was feared on Tuesday, July 14. Cautious office assistant of a magistrate court in Bukuru alerted the police.
Recall that on Sunday an explosion rocked a church in Jos North. A security guard had reportedly thrown the device out of building before it went off. Therefore no life was lost. The operatives later discovered another explosive (some reports stated two more devices had been found).
According to Premium Times, in the early hours of Tuesday, residents and witnesses narrated that an office clerk had averted tragedy by spotting the explosive device.
Abuh Emmanuel, Jos police public relation officer, confirmed that the device had been discovered, but denied that it was an explosive. He, however, commended the employee who found it and informed the police.
The clerk, who pleaded for anonymity, disclosed that she had spotted a big envelope behind the door of her boss, with some electrical installations inside. She immediately turned to the court security personnel members who identified the items as an explosive timed to detonate.
The police anti-bomb squad was called to defuse and evacuate the device.
It should be noted that amid the intensified attacks by Boko Haram insurgents in the northern states of the country, security urge country residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious moves and objects.
