The All Progressives Congress in Scandinavia has sent a stern warning to those that are against the anti-graft war of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The national coordinator, Ayoola Lawal made this position known in a press release where he described as unfortunate the attack on President Buhari’s anti-corruption move. He said it was unfair for anyone to describe the current anti-corruption crusade as a waste of time.
Lawal said: “In their perspective, the anti-corruption crusade is a waste of time and probing of the past administration is not a substitute for good governance.
“If the so-called waste of time will bring sanity, discipline and recover our looted wealth and the perpetrators brought to book, the said time wasting will be one of the greatest dividends of democracy for Nigerians.”
The national coordinator wondered why some elder statesmen are against the probe of corrupt past officials but could not stop the looters when they were busy milking the country’s treasury while many Nigerians lived in impoverish conditions.
“Why no decry when the wicked and shameless crooks were bastardising our economy and turning Nigeria to a failed state. Sometimes, we need to pause and reflect, what is the mind of people that are calling for caution against the anti-corruption crusade. Are they patriotic citizens or merchant elders?
“As much as ideas and constructive criticisms are welcomed in democratic setting especially with the APC led administration, the call for anti-probe of the Jonathan led administration, government officials, contractors, civil servants and politicians by the ex-czars and the cleric men are not in such league of ideas for Nigeria and PMB anti- corruption crusade.
“The holistic approach of PMB to fight corruption before it kills Nigeria is a laudable endeavor that we in APC Scandinavia give our total support and we will continue to champion the crusade by all means.
“We thank and as well implore all Nigerians both home and in diaspora not to relent in their support for PMB and APC leadership in delivering the dividends of democracy and in restoring Nigeria to a sustainable zenith of admiration in the league of Nations,” Lawal said.
In a related development, a lawyer and former national auditor of the PDP, Ray Nnaji had accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of being compromised in its corruption investigation of Sullivan Chime.
