Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was in Borno yesterday, August 17.
Tinubu was in Borno to pay a condolence visit to the governor of the state, Kashim Shettima over the recent death of his deputy Alhaji Zannah Umar Mustapha.
Some others who accompanied Tinubu on the visit were Chief Bisi Akandem and Gombe state governor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo.
Zannah had died in his sleep on Saturday morning while visiting Yola, the Adamawa state capital, to attend the convocation ceremony of Modibbo Adama University of Science and Technology.
The deceased had reportedly gone to bed around 11pm and told his aides to resume at 7:30am the next day. The aides found him dead the next morning after he didn’t show up for an hour, after which they forced his hotel door open.
According to DSP Abubakar Othman, who is the public relations of the command, the Police has not ruled out anything yet in the death. The Adamawa state police command have already commenced investigations into his death.
