#UCL Playoffs: Valencia, Malmo Qualify For Group Stage

The first round of fixtures of the return fixtures of the 2015/2016 UEFA Champions league playoffs have been concluded Valencia, Shakhter with making it to the group stages.
The first leg of the following fixtures were played last week Wednesday, August 19.
Dinamo Zagreb 4 – 1 Skenderbeu: Zagreb came into this fixture with a 2-1 lead from the first leg and only solidified their place in the group stages with another 2-1 win. El-Arbi Hilal Soudani opened the scoring in the 9th minute for Zagreb butEsquerdinha equalized in the 10th minute. Armin Hodzic  restored the lead in the fifteenth minute.

Goncalo Santos earned a red card just after the restart in the 48th minute but Jimmy Taravel and El-Arbi Hilal Soudani scored two more goals as  Zagreb held on for the aggregate win. (6-2) on aggregate.
Maccabi Tel Aviv 1 – 1 Basel: Tel Aviv came into this leg with two away goals in the bag with gave them an advantage. Luca Zuffi opened the flood gates but Isreali legend, Eran Zahavi equalized in the 24th minute. Jeremy Taravel added another in the 53rd minute. (Tel Aviv qualify on away goals. 3-3 aggregate) 
Malmoe FF 2 – 0 Celtic: Celtic played with a sharp knite between the teeth in the first leg where they allowed Swedish outfit Malmo to score two away goals. Those goals came back to haunt Celtic as Malmo won 2-0. The scottish defense was first breached in the 23rd minute as Markus Rosenberg scored a looping header.

Dedryck Boyata‘s 55th minute own goal only made the task harder. Celtic could not find the two goals to turn the tie on its head and lost 4-3 on aggregate.
Monaco 2 – 1 Valencia: Valencia came into this second leg tie with a 3-1 home win at the Mestalla. Spanish striker Alvaro Negredo scored in the fourth minute but Raggi gave the French giants in the 10th minute.

Guido Marcelo Carrillo added another goal for the principality side in the 75th minute but it was too late for Monaco. Valencia qualify 4-3 on aggregate.
Shakhtar Donetsk 2 – 2 Rapid Wien: Marlos first leg goal seemed to put Shakhtar in a good position to qualify for the group stages but they were made to work in the return leg. Marlos again opened the scoring for the Ukranian outfit but Louis Schaub and Steffen Hofmann turned the game on its head with two quickfire goals

Ukranian striker Oleksandr Gladky however retured the lead in the 27th minute. The match ended that way with Shakhtar winning the tie 3-2 to qualify for the group stages. 
All aggregate winners have now qualify for the group stages of the 2015/2016 Champions League. Draws for the group stage will be held on Thursday August 27.
