Na'abba Blasts Nigerian Politicians

Ghali Na’abba, former Speaker of the House of Representatives has said that most of Nigerian politicians are persons of questionable character.
He made this assertion at the National Security Conference organized by the police and management of Sun Newspapers in Abuja.
According News Agency of Nigeria, Na’abba noted that the continued security challenges facing the country could be linked to successive irresponsible leadership.
He stressed that leadership positions in the country have been hijacked by few people saying that politicians with tainted reputation should  not be allowed to hold leadership position.
Na’abba said:“No politician should promote persons of questionable character, sycophants for leadership positions.
The former Speaker opined that as much as good people refused to participate in politics, the country will continue to be denied of quality leadership.
Na’Abba said that political parties must adopt internal democracy in choosing leaders in order to produce leaders with quality traits.
The publisher of the Sun Newspaper, Orji  Kalu, in his remark  stated that the fight to push crime out of the country must be given attention by all.
He said that efforts by the police to provide security had been hampered by insufficient fund and manpower adding that insecurity and crime are related challenges that had impacted adversely on the social and economic wellbeing of Nigerians.
Kalu urged President Muhammdu Buhari not to spare anyone found wanting in the area of corruption.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has announced plan by the federal government to recruit 10,000 police officers. He said this will help in achieving his administration commitment for zero tolerance for criminal activities in the country.
